Keith Webster - Control Operator

Keith Webster, WDBJ studio control operator, is air-minded, the lads at the studio say -- for besides putting WDBJ on the air for several hours a day, he is relief dispatcher for the American Airlines, and does a bit of flying for fun in the time left over.

Mr. Webster, though born in Gardner, Kansas, is to all intents and purposes a native Roanoker, having come here at two months of age and attended the public schools, graduating from Jefferson high school in 1929. Hearing of a vacancy at the local station in the same year, he inquired about it, applied himself to the task of learning the duties of a control room operator, and has been employed by the station since.
